AWS Backup
AWS Backup is a fully managed service that enables centralized management of data backups across AWS cloud and on-premises environments. It allows you to create, schedule, and monitor backups from a single location, eliminating the need to manually configure backups for each service separately.
The service supports multiple AWS services such as Amazon EFS, Amazon RDS, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon EBS, Amazon S3 (in selected scenarios), AWS Storage Gateway, and many more. It enables defining detailed backup policies—including setting schedules, retention periods, and automatic deletion of old backups.
AWS Backup also offers data encryption at rest and in transit, as well as cross-region backup capabilities for additional protection against regional failures. It simplifies meeting security, compliance, and audit requirements by providing visibility into backup history and status from a single console.
